Dear Friends of LIFA:
How many legal immigrants from Latin America were raised in Roman Catholic schools? A large number.
The nuns (or priests in boy’s schools) were tough. Permissiveness was not a word they knew. In that old culture, the parents of a disobedient, rebellious or unkind child would be called in and would not escape correction or rebuke. The child was to be made to change his ways or be expelled. The Church thus helped parents shape their children into decent, law abiding citizens.
Times changed and the Roman Catholic Church moved to the political Left alienating the Christian Conservative Right who were forced to find other denominations more relevant and move on.
This is why the Roman Catholic Priest speaking in the link below deserves much applause. It is sad that a former Roman Catholic as myself thinks of him as being outside the norm. The Jesuit’s influence has done much damage to the image of the Roman Catholic Church.
This presentation is a must see for people of all faiths.
