Legal Immigrants For America (LIFA) recently had the privilege of meeting Loretta Savee at a LIFA speaking engagement at the Stockholm Inn in Rockford, IL. Loretta is a legal immigrant from Indonesia. Here is Loretta’s immigration success story:

My parents and their three children emigrated to the United States from Indonesia in the 1950s. I grew up poor, but my parents were always able to put food on the table and provide us with clothing and a home because they were hardworking, decent people who wanted to provide their children with opportunities that only America could offer.

After I graduated from high school, I worked as a secretary for an American aerospace company. It was through the company’s benefits program that I was able to obtain a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees. I had a career that many women could only dream of!

Why was this possible? It was only possible because I lived in the United States of America, the land of opportunity. I love America because hard work and determination paid off for me. Nothing was ever handed to me. I had to work for everything that I ever owned.

Why am I telling you this? Because most legal immigrants are against the illegal immigration that is happening today in America. The proliferation of the illegals is jeopardizing the American way of life. The culture and the Christianity of this nation are both being eroded. The differences between the time when I came to this wonderful country and what is happening now are twofold: (1) In my time we followed the laws that were in place in America; (2) In my time we integrated into American society. This new wave of illegal immigrants does neither of these two things.

All I ask is that politicians follow and enforce the current immigration laws that are already in place. If they do not do so, then they will bring disease and destruction upon this once great nation.
