Dear Miss Hansberger,
My friend Hugh Hewitt and I just hosted a tele-townhall about Hillsdale’s Barney Charter School Initiative! We enjoyed the discussion very much and hope you were able to join us. If you missed the event you can see the video recording here: www.hillsdale.edu/townhall.
As we discussed, K-12 education in America has become a dismal failure under the influence of state and federal bureaucrats and powerful teachers unions.
That’s why Hillsdale launched the Barney Charter School Initiative—to offer young Americans an alternative when it comes to K-12 education—one that includes a classical curriculum and promotes civic virtue and moral character.
We are starting to see remarkable success in this program. There are already 17 Hillsdale-affiliated classical K-12 charter schools operating nationwide with additional schools opening each year.
That’s why we must expand our efforts to reach more states and reach out to assist with the establishment of more K-12 classical charter schools across the country. This will impact thousands of young lives—in fact, to date over 8,000 students are enrolled at schools established with the help of the Barney Charter School Initiative.
And I’m pleased to announce that the Barney Foundation and friends of the College have issued challenge grants amounting to a total of $748,000 that will match your gift toward the Barney Initiative Endowment dollar-for-dollar.
