Deportations of illegal immigrants in the USA have plunged by 73% since President Obama took office in 2009, according to a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS).
The CIS analyzed the most recent report released by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which stated that U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) only removed 65,332 illegal immigrants from the USA in FY2016 – a mere drop in the bucket.
CIS further noted the 73% drop in interior removals of illegal immigrants since President Obama took office in 2009.
CIS added that the number of criminal illegal immigrants deported has also plunged by about 60% since Obama took office in 2009.
CIS concluded that the true number of deportations of illegal immigrants during the Obama administration is the lowest figure measured since the Nixon administration, and that even former Democrat President Bill Clinton deported substantially more illegal immigrants than President Obama has done.
