FAKE NEWS: ABC’S DOWD REPEATS FALSE CLAIM THAT JOSEPH & MARY WERE IMMIGRANTS

Facebooktwittermail

ABC News’ chief political analyst Matthew Dowd repeated the often-told but clearly-debunked claim that Joseph and Mary were “two immigrants” in Bethlehem when Jesus Christ was born.

It is a case of 2,000-year-old fake news!

Joseph and Mary were not immigrants because Nazareth, where they lived, and Bethlehem, where they were to register through a census ordered by Caesar Augustus, merely involved about a 70-mile journey from one city in the Roman Empire to another. Joseph and Mary were always in the same country. They never crossed any borders. They traveled to Bethlehem as legal, Roman citizens. Immigrants leave one country and enter another country. This was clearly not the case with Joseph and Mary. It is incontrovertible that they were not immigrants.

ABC News’ Dowd further messes up the nativity story when he stated that Mary “gave birth in a manger.” In actuality, Mary gave birth in a stable and then placed the baby Jesus in a manger, which was essentially a feeding trough for animals.

So Dowd was 0-for-2 in his nativity analysis.

2016 has been an incredible year for Legal Immigrants For America (LIFA)!

Here are some of LIFA’s many accomplishments in 2016:

LIFA published “Immigration Voter’s Guide 2016” which contrasted the immigration platforms of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. 16,000 copies were distributed across the USA, in both English and Spanish, and the LIFA voter’s guide played an integral role in the 2016 presidential election.

LIFA met personally with Trump campaign officials to engage them about legal immigration.

LIFA published “The Bible And Immigration” which examined what the Bible says about immigration, along with the responsibilities of the immigrant, the government, and the Christian. “The Bible And Immigration” is in its 2nd printing as many people buy copies to read and to give as Christmas gifts to their family, friends, neighbors, fellow church members, and pastors.

LIFA conducted hundreds of speaking engagements all across the USA, including outreach all across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Illinois, Wisconsin, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and California, and at tea party events, Republican meetings, women’s luncheons, church services, university groups, veterans groups, and in retirement communities, in order to engage Americans about legal immigration issues.

LIFA sponsored radio programs in Orlando and Las Vegas and appeared on the Salem Media Group radio station in Orlando to reach 25,000-50,000 people every week about immigration.

LIFA participated in national and international TV interviews, including on CNN with Anderson Cooper and also on Dutch TV.

LIFA sent a monthly mailing to 1,000-2,000 people to inform them about LIFA’s fight to promote proper and legal immigration in state houses all across the USA and on Capitol Hill in Washington.

LIFA partnered with Dinesh D’Souza to sponsor, distribute, and show “Hillary’s America” at events all across the nation prior to the election, including in churches, country clubs, and on university campuses. LIFA distributed more than 200 copies of “Hillary’s America” in total.

LIFA was an exhibitor and speaker at national conferences across the USA, including participation at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Freedom Fest, Christians United For Israel, Americans For Prosperity, the South Carolina Tea Party Coalition National Convention, and also with We The People Rising, The Remembrance Project, and America First Latinos.

The LIFA website at www.GoLIFA.com was visited by tens of thousands of visitors to read articles, watch videos, and learn more about legal immigration issues.

In 2017, LIFA plans to have significantly more impact and influence in Washington, both in the White House and in Congress, and we also will continue going forward with hundreds of speaking engagements, radio and TV interviews, website articles and videos, monthly print mailings and e-mail updates, exhibitor participation at national conferences, and a new book to be released soon called “The Christian And Immigration.”
