Born in Managua, Nicaragua. Entered legally the United States and went to work for Gene Autry’s television station: KTLA-5 in Hollywood, Ca. as an Executive Secretary for the Chief Engineer. Three years later, went to work for NBC-4 in Burbank, Ca., as an Assistant and Secretary to the CFO of Technical Operations.
After the terrible earthquake in Managua, Amapola went to work for Pan American World Airlines. She also became a licensed Realtor and investor in California, Hawaii, and Florida.
Amapola is the president and founder of Legal Immigrants for America. A 501-C-3 non-profit organization designed to promote legal immigration, and give a voice to the voiceless legal immigrant. Married to Jim Hansberger, they reside in Winter Springs, Florida.
